Field Technicians

We have a requirement for a Field Technicians to join our team in our Toronto, Ontario Office.

The technician will perform on and off site inspections for Kova Engineering customers, while ensuring client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Ensure complete and thorough inspections are performed on all equipment scheduled for inspection.
  • Record findings in accordance with Kova Engineering procedures such as, but not limited to:
  • Properly executed technical reports
  • Properly and timely executed invoices
  • Submitting reports in a timely manner
  • Maintain inspection equipment
  • Further personal knowledge by completing courses and receiving tickets related to the field
  • Represent Kova Engineering in a professional and courteous manner
  • Provide exemplary communication between all departments
  • Maintain client satisfaction and personal professionalism
  • Whenever possible, up-sell clients with Kova Engineering services

Requirements: 

Preference for candidates with a Mechanical Engineering Technologist diploma or Equivalent.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Canadian drivers license
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and strong attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Fast learner with a desire to grow professionally and personally
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Team player with ability to work independently and with minimum direction

Civil Engineer – Entry-Level

As a member of our engineering team, you will design items such as concrete structures, crane foundations and tie backs for our clients in the construction sector. Recent engineering projects by Kova Engineering include crane foundations and tie-back designs at high profile projects such as Trump Tower and Brentwood Mall, as well as the transformation of the iconic Sears Centre into Nordstroms.

We have a requirement for an entry-level Civil Engineer to fill a permanent position in our Surrey, BC office.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of reinforced concrete structures, crane foundations and tie backs
  • Design of steel structures, scaffolding, reshoring and temporary structure
  • Supervision of engineering technologists and field technicians
  • FEA analysis of structures

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science or Graduate Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Eligibility for membership with APEGBC
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Preference will be given to those with drafting experience

Drafter/Designer

We are currently seeking a drafting/designer with a mechanical aptitude and strong computer aided drafting skills to fill a permanent position in our Surrey, BC office. Preference will be given to those with experience in AutoCad and or Autodesk Inventor.

Job Requirements:

  • Design of basic mechanical and structural components, often related to cranes, lift equipment, or shop equipment
  • Communicate drafting requirements between the technologists and certifying engineer
  • Proficient with Autocad and Autodesk Inventor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
